Bishop Baddeley On Dominion Tour
The Bishop of Melanesia, the Rt. Rev. IV. 11. Baddeley, left Wellington yesterday evening for tiie South island to fulfil engagements during the week-end at Geraldine, Timaru and Christchurch, lie will return to Wellington next 'Wednesday to attend the annual meeting of the Anglican Board of .Missions and will then continue his tour in the North Island. Meetings have been arranged at Featherston, Napier. Hastings, Aramoho. Wanganui ami New Plymouth. Tlie bishop (whose headquarters are c/o the Board of Missions, 49 Ballance Street, Wellington) is endeavouring to raise funds for the extension and maintenance of the mission leprosarium on the island of Malaita in tlie British Solomon Islands, and generally to increase interest in the activities of the Melanesian missions.
The mission vessel Southern Cross VII is due at Auckland at the eml of August for her survey. She will leave again in September for the New Hebrides and Solomons.
