Student Dance At Victoria University College

Four hundred Victoria University College students and friends attended a verv successful end-of-term dance in the gymnasium of the Students’ Association Building last night. The college colours, green and gold, were used to decorate the hall, and streamers in these two colours formed a canopv across thc ceiling. More streamers screened tbe frosted windows at one end of the hall, and brightlycoloured posters decorated the walls. The dance was r.n unusually cheerful one Tbe students, with the prospect of three weeks’ vacation ahead, were determined to enjoy themselves. The orchestra obligingly included in its repertoire tunes from college extravaganzas. and these, with their many associations. increased the friendly atmosphere which is always a part ol such dances. Downstairs an excellent supper was served from long tables decorated with green and gold streamers. The dance bad been arranged by the combined sports clubs of the college, and thc committee, representing these, consisted of Misses Ruth Singleton, Nancy Bullen and Susie Saunders, Messrs. R. W. Edgley. A. DLxon. I. Powell, W. Tricklebank, 1 1 . Fortune, C. J. Gates and J. B. Bullock. Among those present were Professor and Mrs I. Gordon, Dr. and Mrs. Campbell. Dr. and Mrs. E. Beaglehole, and Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cochran.
