England’s “Little Old Lady,” Mrs. Ann Stausall. of the twinkling eyes and bewitching smile, died to-day at the age of 108 at Mansfield. Nottinghamshire. She is believed to have been the oldest woman in the country. She has lived alone in St. .John's Place for the past 15 years and did her own housework, declaring, “Hard work will never kill” and “Always have a smile.” She never wore spectacles, heard perfectly, and ate whatever pleased her. She made an aeroplane flight at the age of .102 and celebrated her 108th birthday four months ago, entertaining many guests, for whom she told stories of the crinoline days, pennyfarthing bicycles, pig-tailed Jack Tars, slavery and press gangs. She rememmered the reigns of six English monarchs. She collapsed when the guests departed and spent the remainder of her life in bed.
