NORFOLK ISLAND VISITOR
First Sight Of Trams And Trains Dominion Special Service. Auckland, August 11. First impressions of a modern city were gained to-day by Mr. Ernest Evans, a member of a jiarty of 21 residents from Norfolk Island who arrived at Auckland by the South Pacific Line steamer-Tqsman. Born on the island 26 years ago, Mr. Evans has never previously left bis birthplace, and had never seen trams, trains or big 'buildings before. A farmer on the island, Mr. Evans, who is a single man, was reticent about his intentions, but stated lie had come to New "Zealand with the intention of seeking work in some part of the country.
