Maidstone Park Owner Reduces Price
It. was reported to the Upper Hutt Borough Council last night by the reserves committee that, it had waited on .Mr. I’. Davis, and after discussion with him, he had consented to reduce the jnirchase price of 'Maidstone Park from £751)0 to £6OOO. , , The mayor, Mr. P. Robortsou, said the council would now be. able to tel) the ratepayers that instead of increasing the rales, it would be possible to reduce thorn. The council decided to record its appreciation of the outstanding generosity of Mr. Davis in making the offer. Barton’s Bush Purchase. On Cr. P. Gray's motion, the council eiiipowered the reserves committee to negotiate with Alessrs. Barton Bros, for the purchase of the whole or part of their Trentham property for use as a reserve or playing area.
