Open Letter To Hon. R. Semple
Sir, —1 shall be glad if you will .publish the following open letter to the Hon. It Semple:— “Sir, —Referring to the charge macle by you against a lady who is held in high respect in Wellington, under cover of your Parliamentary privileges, and the said lady’s challenge to you to waive your Parliamentary protection and make the same statements from some public place, thereby giving her the opportunity of bringing a charge against you for libel, and bearing in mind the subsequent statement made by you on the floor of the Houoe that you would make the same statement from every platform in New Zealand, I hereby challenge you to make the same statement at your next meeting to be held in Lower Hutt in the near future. “Should you refuse to accept this challenge you stand discredited in the eyes of every fair-minded person in New Zealand.—l am, etc., “T.
