SUCCESSFUL MUSICALE

English-Speaking Union

Narcissi, daphne and other spring ■flowers were used to make the fragrant sprays and buttonholes which were presented to the accompanist and performers at the English-Speaking ■Union’s musicale last night. Mrs. H. L. Cummings arranged these delightful floral tokens, which were distributed during the night. Lounges and easy chairs were comfortably arranged to face the stage, ■where tall palms and softly shaded ■lights were- artisticaly arranged. ■Bright bowls filled with flowers stood about the room, which was filled with members and friends.

Guests were welcomed by the hostess, Mrs. E. D. Good. Mrs. L. Ros■kruge and Miss Barbara Joyce-Phelan arranged and served a delicious hot savoury supper at the conclusion of the concert. A pleasant social hour concluded a delightful entertainment. The programme, which had been arranged by Miss G. Nannest Adams, was as follows: Songs, Mrs. Bishop, Mrs. Dunean and Mrs. Pengelly, Mr. Seaton ■and Mr. N. Smith; piano solo, Mr. •Egbert Svenson; recitation, Miss G. •Nannestad; Child imnersonations, Mrs. ■Lane. The accompaniments were ably tendered by Miss Conner. Performers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion of their programme.
