Regret that Canterbury bad not seen
fit to come to an agreement about the date for Wellington’s challenge for the F.A. Trophy was expressed at last, night's meeting of the management committee of tiie Ellington Football Association, when advice was received from the council of the New ’Zealand Football Association that the suggestion that the game be played on Monday. August 8. was not now considered suitable and that August 29 was offered instead. Mr. J. Allan moved that August ’-0 be accepted. Mr. E. J. McQueen: Me should convej to the New Zealand council our disgust at the way the fixtures have been messed about. The trophy should bo taken away from them if thev won't play. It was decided to inform the council that the date was acceptable to Welling-
ton. * , , , Congratulations were expressed to the YVaterside club for their meritorious win in the Wellington final ol the Chatham Cup and the secretary was instructed to write to the club wishing the team further success. It was reported that the gate on Saturday had been a record for a chib match. The following transfers were approved : Cook, from Petone junior division to Petone first A division.: B. McNamara, from Marist junior A to Marist junior B. The chairman, Mr. J. Meltzer, the secretary, Mr. W. J. Arcus, and the treasurer. Mr. J, J. Kean, were appointed as a deputation to confer witli the WelHugton Cricket Association on the possibility of procuring a coach for Soccer in the winter and cricket, in the summer.
