Wellington Exchange Dull LITTLE BUSINESS DOING r No change of any moment was seen yesterday in the Wellington stock and share market, which remained dull but steady at round late rates. Trading was inactive and a small turnover was recorded. Government loans were quiet and {unchanged. Banks continued dull, the only feature being an easier trend in New Zealands, [which were Quoted at 42/11, sellers 43/4. •New Zealand Loan and Mercantile •Agency ordinary stock was wanted 20/lower at £29. Little support was forthcoming for gas, insurance, meat freezing or shipping shares. Woollens and coal mines wer£ neglected, and buyers were not much interested in timber and brewery shares.
Leading Australians were quietly steady. G. J. Coles were a shade better, pales being made r.t SI/- to 81/3, and more wanted at the latter figure. Sales recorded yesterday on the Wellington Stock Exchange were as follows :—

BRITAIN’S FINANCES Big Increase In Floating Debt (British Official Wireless.) (Received July 20, 6.30 p.m.) London, July 19. The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue amounts to £164,588,998, compared with i1ia,161,684 at the corresponding date of last year. Total expenditure, less self-balancing items is £280,609,838, as compared with £249 755 955 at the corresponding date of 1937. . The total floating debt outstanding is £911,055,000 —a net increase of £69,300,000 since March 31.
