THE DAVIS CUP

Australian Team Getting

Into Form

(Received July 20, 7.30 p.m.)

Kansas City, July 19.

The Australian Davis Cup team to meet Mexico had two long work-outs to-day. Hopman; the captain, said that they were all getting into form sooner than he expected. Bromwich and then Quist played Wilbur Coen, jun., the ex-national ranker, who lost to both, although he gave them a hard work-out. Hopman and Schwartz played several fast sets. In the singles honours were about even.

Quist seems to toe reaching form fastest. His service puzzled Coen and brought consistent aces. A work-out is scheduled for to-mor-row afternoon, and probably there will be one every day thereafter.
