Large Attendance At
Funeral
The respect in which the late Mr. W. S. Ridler was held was proved -by the large attendance at the funeral yesterday morning. A service at St. Peter’s Church was conducted by the Rev. J. H. Datson, of Opuhake, and was largely attended by representatives of sporting bodies of which Mr. Ridler was a member, including the Wellington Bowling Centro, the Wellington and Eastbourne Bowling Clubs, the Athletic Football Club, and the Poneke Lodge, U.A.O.D. The service at the graveside at. the Karorj cemetery was private, the pallbearers being Messrs. B. Warwick, F. J. S. Adam, L. McDonald, A. Wilson. H. Austad, R. M. Roberts, and R. Forbes.

Among the relatives of the deceased present were Messrs. A. J. Ridler, F. Ridler, E. Ferris. E. Ridler. and Mrs. E. Ferris (Wellington), Mr. E. Bull and Mrs. Bull ( Wlieraroa). and Messrs. W. Hall and E. Hall (Palmerston North).
RUGBY UNION TRIBUTE A tribute to the memory of Mr. W. S. Ridler was paid by the chairman of the management committee of the 'Wellington Rugby Union, Mr. J. N. Millard, nt the weekly meeting last night. Mr. Millard said that Mr. Ridler, though he had never represented the province, had been one of the Rugby stalwarts of the city for many years, and his death would he a groat loss to football generally. and to the Athletic club in particular.
