(From “The Dominion,” July 14, 1913.) “The Second Mrs. Tanqueray” as performed by the Hamilton-Plimmer Company in Wellington on Thursday night. Cast of characters: —Aubrey Tanqueray, Harry Plimmer; Frank Misquith, K.C., Arthur Styan; Dr. Jayne, J. Stewart Clyde; Cayley Drutnmle, Winter Hall; Sir George Orreyd, H. R. Roberts ; Morse, Cyril Bell; Mrs. Cortelyon, Beatrice Day; Lady Orreyd, Muriel Dale; Ellean, Etta Collins; Paula Tanqueray, Mrs. Robert Brough. [Twenty-five years later, almost to the day, Wellington amateurs are to perform the famous play.]
Uneasiness is felt regarding the troops in Ireland. It is feared that if the Home Rule Bill is forced through many officers and men will resign and join the Unionist forces. The workers at the shipyards have been armed, and guns are being distributed to clubs in outlying districts.
