COLLISION ON HUTT ROAD
Two Persons Injured Suffering ijom severe cuts and scalp wounds received when a baby car tind a large truck came into collision on the Hutt Road about a mile and a half north of Ngahauranga at 5.40 o’clock last evening, two persons were admitted to the Wellington Hospital. They were :—
Mrs. Daisy Amos, 11 Belfast Streel. Wellington, head injuries, abrasions' and shock.
James Smith, Emerson Street, Berhampore, conductor, scalp wounds, abrasions and shock.
The injured persons.were passengers in a car driven by Mr. George Amos, motormail, husband of Mrs. Amos, which was returning from the Trenthain races to Wellingtori. .The car came into collision with a large sixwheeled lorry proceeding north and driven by Mr. David James Oliver, 3 Waltons Avenue, Masterton. The car was extensively damaged, the radiator, bonnet, right front wheel and front bumper being crumpled into a tangled wreck. The front windshield was shattered and the steering wheel forced backward and broken. The front per tion of the truck was also considerably damaged. Another car driven by ■ Mr. lan Wright, 206 Knight’s Road, Lower Hutt, also ■ travelling . north, braked heavily, but was unable to avoid hitting the rear of the truck, and was also damaged, but the driver escaped injury. The injured persons received medical attention from Dr. E. W. Gieser and were conveyed to hospital by thi Free Ambulance. It was stated' late last night that their conditions wen not serious. ■
