Unsettled In Westerly Districts, Elsewhere Fair To Cloudy.

Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day :— The anti-cyclone situated over northern New Zealand on Saturday has moved’to the east, but pressure remains relatively high in northern latitudes. A rather deep depression crossed the South Island on Saturday night and >s being followed by another across the south Tasman Sea. Forecast Winds: Between north-westerly and south-westerly; moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force in some exposed positions about and

south of Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters rough on the west coast and about Cook and h oveaux

Straits; elsewhere slight to moderate. Winds between north-west and south-east prevailing in the eastern Tasman Sea; moderate over northern portion with moderate seas but strong in the southern

portion with rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Unsettled and rather squally with scattered rain in districts with a westerly aspect and in the far south; elsewhere mainly fair to cloudy. Temperatures moderate.
