CHEERY GATHERING

Blue Triangle Dance Club

Very popular with the dancing members of both the Y.W.C.A. and the Y.M.C.A. are the dances organised from time to time by the Blue Triangle Dance Club, and .held in the Y.W.C.A. ball. Many’ members of both association's with their friends were present at the dance held on Saturday, which, witli an excellent orchestra, a good floor and the efforts of the master of ceremonies, Mr. 11. North, was one of tlie most successful they have yet arranged. The president of the club, Miss Lulu Rogers, received the guests, wearing a frock of black georgette. She was assisted by members of the staff and the committee, including Miss Scott, in green crepe, and Miss H. Hislop, who wore a tunic in autumn tonings over a brown full skirt.

An excellent foil for the gaily coloured frocks of the women were the white and gold pillars, softly lit by concealed lights near the ceiling. On the orchestral dais hydrangeas and greenery were massed, and an appropriate note was struck by’ the blue triangles on the white and gold walls. During the evening an exhibition dance was given by Miss Jean Alabin and Mr. G. A. Hannam, who performed the intricate steps of the modern waltz with delightful ease. Miss Mubin’s white frock with' a lace bodice and coatee, and a fully flared skirt inlet with godets of lace, added to the grace of the concerted movement. Committee members served a handround supper, and a note of variety was introduced with the many novelty dances.
