Wellington.— Brilliantly fine. A light northerly wind prevailbd in the morning, but about noon a moderate southerly breeze set in. Temperatures were cooler. Minimum temperature on Thursday night was 48.1 deg. Maximum temperature yesterday was 65deg. At 3 p.m. the temperature was 52.7 deg. and the barometer reading 29.838 in. Palmerston North.— Fine, with passing clouds, but generally sunny; mild temperatures. Masterton.— Beautifully fine and sunny; a light south-westerly wind. Wanganui.— Fine and sunny, with a strong westerly wind and rough seas. Barometer at 5 p.m., 29.95 in. New Plymouth.— Mainly overcast, with a westerly breeze and passing showers; temperature slightly cooler; barometer at 5 p.m., 30.00 in. Waipukurau.—A beautiful day, with bright sunshine throughout; maximum temperature 62deg. Napier and Hastings — Another glorious day, with a cloudless sky and warm sunshine throughout and a light westerly breeze. Auckland.— Generally fine but cloudy, with a few showers about midday. The wind was fresh from the south-west and the maximum temperature was 64deg. Barometric pressure was fairly steady, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.05 in. Christchurch.— Fine and sunny all day, with a very light south-west wind. The maximum temperature was 53.7 deg. The barometer at 5 p.tn. read 29.839 in. and was falling slowly.

Dunedin.— Showery, with a fresh breeze from the south-west. There was no sunshine and the maximum temperature was sGdeg. The barometer rose to 29.95 in.
