RELIGIOUS SERVICES LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH (God willing) 0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET. SUNDAY AT 7 P.M. Subject: “HELL-FIRE TORMENTS —A FALLACY” IN THE COURSE of thin lecture, evidence will be produced to f>how tluit .the true meaning of the Hebrew and Greek originals, “Shcol,” “Hades, ’ and * “Gehenna,” .translated in the Bible “hell (50 times), “hell-lire" (3 limes), “grave” (32 times), and "pit" (3 times), is in perfect harmony with the definite teaching of the Bible:— (1) THAT "the wages of sin is DEATI.I" (Roms. 6:23, .Roms. 8:13, Gals. 6:8, Eze. 18:4). The punishment for sin being “death,” it follows that “everlasting punishment" is everlasting death. (Matt. 25:46, U Thess. 1:9. Psa. 37:20). (2) THAT there is no punishment after death for those who live and sin in IGNORANCE of the will and purpose of God. (Roms. 2:12, Roms. 4:15, Luke 13:3, Matt. 7:13, Psa. 49:20. Psa. 88:5. Prov. 21:16). (3) THAT ENLIGHTENED (i.e., responsible) sinners cannot be punished whilst in the death state, for "the dead know not anything,” consequently to receive punishment they will be resurrected from among the dead (at Christ’s coining) to “appear before the judgment seat of Christ.” (Ecc. 9:5, and 10, I’sa. 6:5, Psa. 146:3-4, Acts 24:15, Dan. 12:2, John 5:25-29, Rev. 11:18, II Tim. 4:1, II Cor. 5:10). (4) THAT the punishment of this class of sinner will be “shame” and “contempt” as a result of rejection by Christ, and finally. “THE SECOND DEATH.” (Matt. 25:46, Matt. 22:13. Dan. 12:2, II Thess. 1:7-10, Rev. 2:11). Questions invited. No collection. For the truth concerning “hell,” read the book, “Christendom Astray." A copy will be sent free on application to "Bible Truth,” c/o sibove hail. N.B.—SEE NEXT WEEK’S “PULPIT MESSAGE” COLUMN FOR REPORT OF ABOVE LECTURE. PROPERTIES FOR SAIAJ.
