Sir Benjamin Fuller, Sydney, is a visitor to Wellington, where he will stay until the week-end. Mr. J. C. Shand, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the south. Mr. Harvey Turner arrived at Wellington yesterday by. the Limited express from Auckland. Mr. J. W. Beanland, Christchurch, returned south last night by the steamer express.

Mr. H. M. Aitken, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. Mr. G. Trengrove, Wanganui, left Wellington for the south last night by the steamer express.

The Rev. H. Johnson, moderator of the Congregational Church im-New Zealand, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Limited express. Mr. W. B. Darlow, the North Shore representative on the board, has been elected chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board.

Mr. R. G. Shepheard, manager of T. Hott, Ltd., Christchurch, returned to the south last night by the steamer express. z

Mr. J. L. Brown, of the Ford Motor Company, of New Zealand, Ltd., was a passenger by the steamer express to the south last night.

Mr. C. G. Mclndoe, Auckland, arrived' at’ Wellington yesterday by the Limited express from the north. He will leave Wellington to-morrow for Sydney. Brigadier-General IL W. Lloyd, a member of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland by the Limited express. Mr. J. R. McKenzie left Christchurch last night en route for jSan Francisco, where he will, represent the Christchurch Rotary Club at the conference of the Rotary International. He will sail from Auckland on Sunday.

Captain A. H. Davey, who has been on holiday leave in Australia, has resumed command of the- Awatea. which is due here this morning from Sydney. Captain G. B. Morgan, D.S.C., who was in command of the Awatea in the absence of Captain Davey, is returning to Wellington in the ship and will take command of the Rangatira in place of Captain B. B, Irwin, who is going on leave.

Mr. F. O. CHssold, chief clerk of the Wellington branch of the South BrU. fish Insurance Company, has been promoted to be manager at Tiinaru. and Mr. M. J. McArtney, district inspector for the Manawatu district, has been promoted to be chief clerk at Wellington. Mr. G. r. Clapcott, of the Wellington staff, has-been appointed district inspector in the Manawatu. Mr. C. Young, who has been manager at Timaru, has been promoted to be manager in Wanganui, and Mr. N. C. Barstow. at present manager in Wanganui, will go to headquarters at Auckland.
