The improvement in the European situation was reflected on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-day, when prices were steadier, but trading was along cautious lines. Iteports of good rains in New South Wales also improved market sentiment. Sales included :-

Morning sales included : Commonwealth Bonds, 4 p.e., .1944, £lOl/17/6; Australian Gas (A). £7/9/6; Tooth’s Brewery, 55/-; Anthony Hordern, pref., ex. dividend. 22/9; Broken Hill Proprietary, 61 z 3: Burns, Philp, 53/6: Colonial Sugar (ex dividend), 48/5; Howard Smith, 21/3; Peters Ice, 52/-. Melbourne, May 25.

Un the Stock Exchange of Melbourne to-day the market was very quiet, there being no alteration in prices. Sales included :—
