New Plymouth.—Fine and sunny with passing clouds and a fresh south-east-erly breeze. The temperature was colder. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 30in. Waipukurau.—Bright and sunny morning, clouding over n( midday; afterward intermittent rain. Napier and Hastings.—Following a light frost tlie weather was tine and sunny in the morning. A zyplden s-quall from the south just after midday brought heavy rain squalls, which cleared in the middle of the afternoon, and tlie remainder of the day was sunny, with prospects of another trost nt night. Auckland.—Showery with a light to moderate south-west wind. Tlie maximum temperature was Oixleg. Barometric pressure rose slightly, the 5 p.m. reading being 30.05 in. Christchurch. —A fresh south-west wind prevailed? There were passing showers in the morning but the afternoon was tine and sunny. The maximum temperature was 52.Sdeg. Tlie barometer rose slowly to 30.2-tin. nt 5 p.m. Dunedin.—Fine after rain in the early morning: missing clouds. Temperatures were cool, tlie maximum lining 53<leg. The barometer rose steadily to 30.35 in.
