Farewell To Horace Hunt (From "The Dominion,” May 14, 1913.) The general esteem in which Mr. Horace Hunt is held, combined with the, decided attractiveness of the programme, ensured a very large attendance of the public at the Wellington Town Hail last evening, when a complimentary concert was tendered to the departing pianist. Mr. Hunt is about to leave for England. A fire in the early hours of yesterday morning swept away Poole’s Hall, . the post office and the intermediate buildings at Kimbolton, and, but for the fact that wind was blowing from the north-west, it is probable that the other side of the street, including the hotel and the stables, would have gone. * * ♦ The London “Morning Post” states that it is hoped that the principal liners to Australia, Canada and South Africa will shortly be armed. The Admiralty will provide the guns and possibly one hundred rounds per ship. The gun crews will be mostly naval reservists.
