WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

The April meeting of the Otakl Women’s Institute was held recently, Mrs. Hopkins presiding. Mrs. Barrett, who has left the district, tendered her resignation, which was received with regret. Tlie resolutions for the annua) meeting in July were discussed. It was decided to contribute a gift for the sales table at the meeting to which Mrs. G. Evans, and Mrs. A. Bills-were selected as delegates. Owing to lack of time the debate “Olden v. Modern Times” was postponed until May. The competitions for next month are: Cheese straws without eggs: bottle of preserved vegetables, and best, flower in my. garden. Winners of April competitions were: “Wits and Bits,” Miss Manz, 1; Mrs. Empson, 2; tomato relish: Mrs. Beattie, 1; Miss Manz, 2; tomato sauce: Mrs. Beattie. The hostesses, who served afternoon lea, were Mesdames Jacobs, Percival. Beatfie, Wells, Brumley, and -Miss Black.
