FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Mostly Fine; Cold Temperatures And Many Frosts.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending at 3 p.m. to-day A shallow westerly depression is moving eastward off the Dominion, and an anti-cyelone of considerable intensity, of which the centre is over the south-west Tasman Sea, is approaching from the west, The forecast is for south-west to southerly winds, strong at first about and north of Cook Strait, but gradually decreasing and elsewhere light to moderate. Seas rough at first north of Farewell Spit and between Kalkoura and East Cape, but later decreasing; elsewhere slight to moderate. Light to moderate southerly winds and slight to moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. A few isolated showers probable, chiefly on the east coast and in the far north, but weather for the most part fine. Temperatures cold, with many frosts.
