Warships In Hauraki Gulf

Auckland, April 26.

The cruisers Achillea aucl Leuuder and the escort vessel Wellington left the Pevouport naval base this morning for firing exercises in the Hauraki Gulf. The Minister of Defence, Hou. F. Jones, is a guest of Rear-Admiral the Hon. E. it. Drummond on board the Achilles. A party of Auckland military officers are also on board. The escort vessel Leith sails for the gulf to-morrow and, accompanied by the Wellington, will proceed to Sydpey and later visit the Tactile Islands, returning to Auckland in the first week in September.
