Thomas and Co., Ltd., as follows.--Apples: Granny Smith, o/(> to of- a bushel; Jonathan, 3/6 to 6/-; Cox Orange, 3/6 to 9/-; Delicious, 3/b to 6/-; 'cookers, 3/6 to 4/6: Sturmers, 4/Pears: Winter Coles. 5/- to 8/- a 2* case; Winter Nelis, 2/- to 4/-; cooking, 4/- to 5/-. Quinces, 5/- to 7/- a bushel; passion fruit, 12/- to 17/- a i-case; cape gooseberries, 5/- to 6/- a 4-case; grapes, hothouse, 1/- to 1/9 a lb.; lemons, 8/- to 15/- a bushel. The price fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint for the week ended April 15, was at the rate of approximately £7/18/5 an ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 103.45 per cent Payment is made according to the assay value of the gold. The price was 1/3 an ounce lower on the week. The price per ounce fine is £B/12/10, a fall of 1/41 an ounce on the week.
