The price fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint for the week ended April 15, was at the rate of approximately £7/18/5 an ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 103.45 per cent Payment is made according to the assay value of the gold. The price was 1/3 an ounce lower on the week. The price per ounce fine is £B/12/10, a fall of 1/41 an ounce on the week.
