Further Heavy Rain And Flooding In Wairarapa And Hawke s Bay.

Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day:

A rather deep cyclonic depression is centred east of Poverty Bay and is moving slowly southward while a deep westerly depression covers south-eastein Australia. An anti-cyclone of slight intensity covers the north Tasman Sea. The forecast is for moderate to strong southerly to south-easterly winds from Nelson and Marlborough northward, reaching gale or strong gale force in places between Cape Palliser and East Cape; light to mot erate to north-west winds over the remainder of the South Island, latei freshening. Seas rough to high between Cape Palliser and East I Capel ®] s ®^^®, r ® moderate but rising north of Fnrewe.l Spit and Kaikoura and latei in the

far south. Td'-ht to moderate south-westerly winds in the northern portion of the eastern Tasman Sea, with.moderate seas; light to moderate north-westerlies and slight seas in the southern portion, but wind and sea later increasing.
