Wellington Rowing Club’s Race Though the rowing season is virtually over, three crews from the Wellington Rowing Club competed for the. Club Fours. In the first heat R. Nicholson (str.), W. Morgan (3), N. E. D. Mathewson (2), and W. Sewell (bow), beat A. Manning (str.), W. Mclvor (3), F. Boek (2), and W. Carter (bow), by five lengths. The final was won by J. Alexander (str.), E. Marchant (3), A. (Houston (2), and A. Osborne (bow), who beat Nicholson’s crew by half a length in an exciting finish. The water was too rough for rowing at Petone, and the Star men were busy fitting out a whaleboat in preparation for old members’ day next Saturday.
