“GAIETIES” REVUE
Opening At New Opera House To-night To-night, at the New Opera. House, Stanley McKay is to present his new “Gaieties” vaudeville and revue company in the sparkling and spectacular revue, “The Navy's in Town,” of which the “New Zealand Herald” of April 4, in its criticism of the opening performance, says: “It is seldom that Auckland audiences have the opportunity of seeing such versatile, capable, and entertaining artists as those of the Stanley McKay Co., which commenced its season at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday night. The programme contains a wide variety of clever and bright items, the main feature being the lavishly produced naval song seena, “The Navy’s in Town,” written and staged brGeo. Greig, of the popular Hilo Duo. Other highlights of the show were Fredo Freres, Continental acrobatic violinists; Elvy, Sydney solo violinist; James, the mysterious one; Geo. and Wehi Greig, Hawaiian entertainers; Alessandro. Fossati, brilliant tenor; Wyn. Edgerton, soprano; Alice Bennetts, English revue artist; and Heather Wright, eccentric dancer and contortionist.
