JEWISH TRIBUTE

Service At Synagogue

A part of the service at the AVellington Synagogue last Saturday was devoted to the commemoration of Anzae Day, and Rabbi Solomon Katz spoke in his sermon of the meaning and associations of the anniversary.

“On Monday we in New Zealand, as

well as the people of Australia and elsewhere, will gather to pay homage to our loyal and heroic sons who gave their lives in the service of King and country,” he said.

“Our Jewish sous fought and mingled their blood with that of their comrades in arms iu defence of our country. The best way in which to honour the Anzacs is by reaffirming our faith in the democratic ideology ef government which aloue inspires, liberty, fraternity and equality.”
