EASTER CONFERENCE
Y.W.C.A. And Aspects Of Club Life At Easter time the leaders and other members of the Y.W.C.A. clubs held a training conference at the Frederic Wallis House, Lower Hutt, under the leadership of Miss Bridgman. Round Table, Business Girls’ Lyceum, Everygirl, Girl Citizens and Sports Clubs were represented, and each club should 'benefit greatly as a result of the conference.
The various aspects of club life were surveyed and methods for increasing the value of leaders to their clubs were discussed. The study courses included world fellowship and how'to become internationally-minded, planning programmes, qualities required for leadership, self-analysis and business procedure. Prayers led by one of the students were held morning and evening in the house chapel. A period was spent each day in Bible study and the discussion of some phase of the Christian life. i . In the evenings short, informal talks were given, one by Miss Bridgman on “Appreciation,” one by Miss Ethel Law, national general secretary, on “Canadian Art and Artists,” and one by Mrs. deMuth on “Memory.” Altogether a great deal of valuable work was done and those who took part in this conference should feel more competent to assist in the fulfilment of the purpose of the Y.W.C.A., which is, through its girls and women, to raise the standard of life in the community.
