Barometer reading at 5 p.m., 30.20 in, Waipukurau.— Dull but warm, with a maximum temperature of 73deg. Steady rain began to fall late in the afternoon and continued during the evening. Auckland. — Dull weather ruled in the morning and, after light showers in the early afternoon, heavy rain set in. The wind was moderate from the north-north-east and the maximum temperature was 78deg. i Barometric pressure was steady with a, 5 p.m. reading of 30.20 in. Christchurch. — After rain early in the morning the weather was fine but overcast. The’ maximum temperature was 71-9 deg. There was no wind in the morning and a light south-west breeze in the afternoon. The barometer rose tp 30.21 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.— Fine, although the sky was overcast. The temperature reached a maximum of 67deg. There was a slight breeze from the north-east and the barometer rose steadily throughout the day to 30.40 in. Napier and Hastings: Dull and overcast with a light wind. Light rain began to fall late in the afternoon.
