Oriental v. Pirates On Saturday

A Rugby football match is to be played at Emerson Street Park on Saturday between the Oriental club, which is to celebrate its jubilee this year, and the Pirates club. Both have teams in the Wellington Rugby Union’s senior A second division competition. On the following Saturday, Oriental will play a match against the Kaierau club, Wanganui, at Wellington. For the Pirates club, Saturday’s match will serve as a useful try-out for players to represent the club at the annual tourney of Pirates clubs from Wellington, Napier, Wanganui, and Palmerston North. The tournamenj ie to be held this Easter at Wanganui. The Wellington club will send one team, and the players have been assured of plenty of entertainment during their stay. A civic reception will be given th® visitors.
