WERAROA ESCAPEES
Recaptured Near Eketahuna Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, April 5. Two youths who escaped from Weraroa Training Farm last Thursday evening were recaptured at Newman, near Eketahuna, after a chase which led Detective W. R. Fell and Constable Watt a long distance across country. It is believed they were responsible for the theft of a doctor’s car from Palmerston North last Friday evening and that they converted cars to their own use in other towns. The youths, it is believed, stole and damaged a Car at Newman. They were noted and the police tracked them down from where they abandoned the vehicle. ( TWO MORE YOUTHS ESCAPE Palmerston North, April 5. Two more boys were discovered missing from Weraroa this morning. Both are 16 years of age. One is sft. Ilin, in height, well built, with light brown hair and medium complexion. The other is sft. 6in. in height, has fair hair, blue eyes, apd fresh complexion, and is of slight build. They had not been recaptured to-night.
