Impressed by the beauty of the country and the hospitality ot the people’during Her tour of New Zealand recently with the Montague Show. Miss M Wallace a member of the company, returned by the Maunganui, which arrived at Dunedin this morning, to traverse the Dominion moie leisurely than was possible in the rush of the theatrical business. This time she is on holiday and intends to make hetwav to Wanganui via the West Coast, haying been attracted by the scenery th " New Zealanders have the clothes but lack the ability to wear them,” she said, in commenting upon -the manner in which women of this country dress“lntriguing models are displayed in Shop windows but they usually lose that different touch when worn because they look as if they have simply been thrown on.” Australian women had an auvantag** over those of New Zealand insofar as cosmetics were concerned, she said, in that the use of aids to beauty bad attained a higher stage of art theie than in this country. She would not say that Australian women used make-up to the extent of “over-doing it.”
