WOMEN’S HOCKEY
Meeting Of Association The Wellington Women’s Hockey Association held its annual meeting last night in the Y.W.C.A. The report and balance-sheet were adopted and officers were elected for the coming year. A discussion took place on a proposed change in the constitution by -which the management committee could be altered. Hitherto it has consisted of five members who were elected from tne delegates of the affiliated clubs, the president, the honorary secretary and the treasurer. Under the amendment, which was carried unanimously, there are to be six delegates elected at the meeting, and the president is no longer to be a member. The chairman, Mr. J. C. Cusack, pointed out that this enabled another club to be represented on the committee. As there were 19 clubs affiliated to the association last year, the committee considered that it was time to increase their opportunities of representation. The. chairman said that he had been asked by the Umpires’ Association to acknowledge a letter from the Women’s Hockey Association expressing its gratitude for the services of the umpires during the past season. On behalf of the umpires, Mr. Cusack expressed their intention to continue their work in the coming season. x
