JAPANESE FEAR OF RUSSIA
Increasing Anxieties DIVISION OF FORCES NECESSARY By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, March 30. The Shanghai correspondent, of the “Daily Telegraph” says that fear of action by Russia is increasing Japanese anxieties, necessitating the concentration of a sufficient force to deal with emergencies, thereby depriving the armies in China of adequate forces to deal with the increasingly difficult situation.
It is reported that the Soviet > s strengthening its defences in Outer Mongolia, where it has already 50,000 infantry supported by cavalry, motorised sections, artillery, and aircraft.
