More Instructors Wantec REMITS TO CONFERENCE The opinion that there are nut enough poultry instructors in New Zealand was expressed by the Poultry Producers’ Federation at its annual conference at Wellington yesterday. It was decided to urge the department, in view of the acknowledged amount of good which can be done through its instructors, to give favourable and urgent attention to an increase in their numbers. The Government is also to be asked to hold a refresher course annually for all instructors.
Other remits passed included the following.:— . .. That the federation do all in its power to foster' the principles of certification of breeding stock. That the Department of Agriculture be asked to convene a representative meeting to revise the Dominion poultry standards for all breeds of fowls, and that the department publish such standards when it has approved them. That registered poultry-keepers keeping dogs to protect their flocks be granted dog licences at the minimum rate. That the executive of the Poultry Board be asked to try to arrange for personal representation and an exhibit of birds at the World Poultry Congress in 1939.
That the executive ask the Poultry Board, to grant facilities to enable the producer representatives on the board to visit their districts at least once a year.
