CORONATION PICTURE

♦ Prime Ministers’ Present / To King (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, March 26. Mr. Frank Salisbury’s picture of the Coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey—a gift to the King and Queen from the four Prime Ministers of the Dominions—was formally presented to Their Majesties at Buckingham Palace, by the High Commissioners for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

In making the presentation, the senior High Commissioner, Mr. Vincent Massey (Canada), handed to the King a letter signed by the four Dominion Prime Ministers, Mr. Mackenzie King, Mr. J. A. Lyons, Mr. M. J. Savage, and General Hertzog. In accepting the picture on behalf of the Queen and himself, the King expressed his intention of writing a personal letter of thanks to each of the four Prime Ministers.

The King took the opportunity to hand to Mr. C. T. te Water, High Commissioner for South Africa, the four seals of the Union—the Great Seal, the Wafer Seal, the Governor-General’s Seal, and the Royal Signet. The seals were first presented to the Union by King George V, in July, 1934. A new series is struck for each successive reign. '
