There has been an exceptionally keen demand in the Waikato for farming land in the last few weeks, mainly for dairy properties of about 100 acres, though sometimes larger holdings have been involved. One agent, commenting on the willingness of inquirers to offer substantial deposits, has said that purchasers with £2OOO deposit were not uncommon, whereas £2OO had previously been the limit. Another agent said the Inquiry for land was the nest for eight years. Several farm deals had been made at £4O to £5O an acre.
