Wellington. —Brilliantly fine and warm, with a light northerly breeze. The minimum temperature during Thursday night was 56.2 deg., and the maximum yesterday was 78.1dcg. The temperature at 3.30 p.m. was 75deg., and. the barometer reading was 30.296 in. Palmerston ’North. —A gloriously fine summer day, with a cloudless sky, warm, sunshine, and hardly a breath of wind. Masterton. —Hot and sunny, witli a light westerly- wind. Wanganui.—Fino, with bright sunshine and no wind. Sea calm. AVarm temperatures. At 4 p.m. the barometer was steady nt 30.40 in. Now Plymouth.—Bright sunshine all day, very warm and perfectly calm. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 30.25 in. Waipukurau. —A warm, sunny day, with a maximum temperature of 74deg. Napier and Hastings.—Beautifully fine, with warm temperatures and light breeze. Auckland. —Overcast and oppressively hot, with a light to moderate east-north-east wind. The barometer was high and very steady, reading 30.35 in. dt 5 p.m. The maximum temperature was 76dcg., and the minimum"6sdeg. Christchurch. —The sky was overcast almost all day, with a light breeze from the east. The maximum temperature was 61.9 deg., and the barometer at 5 p.m. read 30.35 in, and was falling slowly. Dunedin. —Bright sunshine, the maximum temperature being 68deg. There was a moderate north-easterly breeze and barometric pressure dropped from 30.36 in. to 30.25 in., where it remained fairly steady.
