RELIGIOUS SERVICES. LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH (God willing), t 0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET, SUNDAY AT 7 P.M. Subject: ‘WHY THE COMING WAR IS NOT ARMAGEDDON’ <’HE GATHERED THEM TOGETHER INTO A PLACE CALLED LN THE HEBREW TONGUE ARMAGEDDON." (Rev. 16:16.) The object of this lecture is to show that the widespread belief that the predicted coming invasion of Palestine by a confederacy of European nations under the leadership of "Gog” is what is: referred to in the Holy Scriptures as ’Armageddon” is a fallacy. It will be shown : (1) THAT Armageddon is a “place” in Palestine, 60 miles north of Jerusalem (Rev. 16:16, Joshua 1.7:11, Judges 5:19, H Kings 23:29, II Cbr. (2) THAT the gathering of the nations into this “place” does nut occur until Jesus Christ is actually back on the earth and in possession of the Holy Citv. Jerusalem. (Rev. 19:19, Rev. 17 :12-14, Dan. 8:25, Psa. 2 :'l-9, Joel 3 :9-17, Isa. 29 :7-8, Zeph. 3:8.) (3) THAT' as Christ’s immortalised saints are “with Him” at Armageddon this battle is preceded by resurrection and judgment. (Rev. 17 :14, Acts 24:15, Dau. 12:2, Rev. 11.18, Matt. 2'5:31-46, H Cor. 15:51-54.) (4) THAT Armageddon is also preceded by the proclamation of Rev. 14:6-7, a proclamation which is Penteeostian, not judicial and vengeful—an announcement of judgment impending and not in actual manifestation. (See also Joel 2:28-32.) (5) THAT whereas (he coming war will end in Palestine, Armageddon will begin there, for Armageddon is but the opening battle of the protracted "war of the great day of God Almighty”—a transition period of terrible judgment, during which the kingdoms of this world puss away and the Kingdom of God is set up on earth. (Rev. 16:16-21, 1 Thess. 1:10, 11 Thess. 1 :7-9, I.sa, 26:20-21, Isa. 42:13-14, Isa. 66:15-16, Jer. 25:30-33, Jer. 30:23-24, Hobs. 12:26, 11 Pet. 3:6-13, Rev. .11:15, Dan. 2:44, Matt. 6:16, Acts 17:31, Zech. 14:9, etc.) N.B. —Two large diagrams will be exhibited illustrating the scriptural distinctions between the coming invasion of Palestine and Armageddon.
