MAGISTRATE’S COURT

in the Magistrates' Court, Wellington, yesterday. William Freeney Kennan, salesman, aged 36, was charged with obtaining goods and money to the value of £3 from Sui Lum Loo by means of a false pretence. He was remanded to March 30. John Curran, old age pensioner, aged 71, was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, in that he had insufficient visible means of support. He had previously been convicted of being idle and disorderly. He was convicted and ordered to live at the Salvation Army Home. A fine of £3 and costs was imposed on Edward John Keeling for fighting in a public place. The fight occurred in Swan Lane and both men had been drinking, stated Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle. Dor failing to cle.an his milking machines immediately after use, Gordon Keith Taylor was fined £2 and costs. 11 was his first offence. The magistrate said it was not a serious case.
