Armstrong secretary. NEW BRANCH SECRETARY APPOINTED
4 Wanganui, March 25. Mrs. F. B. Smith has been appointed secretary of the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand National Party in place of Mr. P. H. Hartland, who was appointed to the position 12 months ago and was asked if he would act until such time as other arrangements were necessary.
Because of the rapid progress being made by the branch, the secretaryship is now a full-time office, and Mr. Hartland handed in his resignation, which, in deference to his wishes, was accepted with regret. Appreciative reference to his past services was made at a recent meeting of the executive, which recommended to the general committee that Mr. Hartland be appointed to the executive.
Mr. Hartland will continue as an active member of the Wanganui branch.
