NAPIER’S PELORUS JACK INJURED

Seen By Launch Party Dominion Special Service. Napier. March 25. A large fish which has been .seen often off Napier and . has been given the name of Napier’s' Pelorus Jack has been injured. Considerable interest has been aroused in the fish, which was at first thought to be a porpoise, hut it has since been agreed that it is some unidentified specie. The fish was rapidly gaining the same prestige as the famous Pelorus Jack. It was seen off tin; coast by it launch party returning to Napier yesterday with part of its head torn away and flesh from the side of the jaw was trailing in the water. The party was unable to make a thorough investigation, but' apparently Napier Jack had been struck by a vessel or the injuries are the result of a tight with another fish.
