Disturbances At Meetings
Sir, —1 was interested in Mr. P. Fraser's. statement regarding the activities of police at public meetings, and Mr. S. G. Holland’s reply thereto. One important point, however, does not appear to have been brought out during the discussion. During the stay-in strike at Auckland the strikers were unlawfully in possession of property, and the police, I am given to understand, had instructions not to interfere. By whom were such instructions given?—l am, ete., CURIOUS. Wellington, March 25.
