MISSIONARY ADDRESSES

A distinguished visitor from Canada. Dr. Rowland V. Bingham, is nt present visiting Wellington, and will give two addresses on Tuesday. Forty-five years ago. Dr. Bingham, with two other young men. made the initial attempt to reach the 50,000,000 inhabitants of the Sudan. Two efforts failed ; the third was successful. His two colleagues laid down their lives for Christ's sake and the Gospel's. To-day Dr. Bingham is the director of the Sudan Interior Mission, a groat faith mission with more than 300 missionaries of all denominations. A New Zealander, Mr. A. G. Roke, who has recently returned from Abyssinia, will also speak on Tuesday afternoon.
