CRISIS OVER
Responsible Opinion In London EUROPE CALMER No Longer Fears Of Split In British Cabinet By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 20. The “Observer” says that, the progress of the Anglo-Italian talks and the Lithuanian decision have combined to produce a much calmer atmosphere in the general European situation. Last night there were no longer any fears of a British Cabinet split. Even the former critics now appreciate the wisdom of Mr. Chamberlain’s restraint. Mr. Herbert Morrison, chairman of the Labour Party’s national campaign, declared that Mr. Chamberlain must perceive that, the country and a growing number of Parliamentarians were against him. The honourable course was to resign in favour of a Prime Minister who more fully corresponded with the nation’s outlook. Britons did not desire a continuance of the nightmare and wanted to organise peace.
