FISHING HOLIDAY
Australian’s High Praise For Sport In Dominion Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 21. Deep-sea and trout fishing are attractions for a party of four Australians who arrived by .the Aorangi-from Sydney. The organisers of the holiday trip, which is to last a month, are two Melbourne medical men, Dr. F. G. Donovan, surgeon, and Dr. F. G. Stephens, radiologist, who have five times previously visited New Zealand. The other members of the party are business men, Mr. N, Meyer, Melbourne, and Mr. M. Reid, Adelaide. The visitors will first try their luck at deep-sea fishing at Mayor Island, with Tauranga as their base. Later they intend to visit Lake Taupo for trout fishing.
“I think New Zealand offers the best fishing sport in the world,” said Dr. Donovan. “I have enjoyed fishing ill many countries, but never so much as the fishing I have had here. The fact that this is the sixth visit of Dr. Stephens and myself is proof enough that it is a tourist attraction of the highest order.”
