Clouston’s Tasman Flight

Sydney, March 21.

Flying Officer Cloustoii’s official time of arrival from New Zealand was 3.584 p.iii., which means that he broke the record made by the Centaurus by one hour, 33 minutes. Flying Officer Clouston’s time was eight hours, 27 minutes.

Bad weather over the greater part of the Tasman delayed the airmen, but the machine behaved excellently. The total time from the departure of the plane till its return to Sydney was 321 hours.

Flying Officer (Houston said the return trip should have taken about ’ seven hours, but the coast of New Zealand was under low clouds and heavy rain when he 16ft and strong head Windp were encountered most of the way across.
