LABOUR PLACEMENT SCHEME
Inauguration* In Victoria (Received March 15,‘12.45 a.m.) , Melbourne, March 14. Victoria’s Labour Placement Service, based on the New Zealand’.System, following' investigations Inade by representatives of .the Government last year, was inaugurated to-day. Approximately 14,000 were enrolled under the scheme. Each man’s labour, history was traced back*,for eight,years,and,,the results revealed a surprising degree of skill in many cases. . . • The object of the service is to provide work, particularly for those who, after years of unemployment, have lost the incentive to search themselves Many employers have already applied for labour. ’
